Europe Your Own Way invites you to join us! Itinerary starts and ends in Lisbon. Highlights include private guided tours in Lisbon, Porto, Sintra, and more! We’ll also enjoy a private boat excursion on the Douro River with a wine tasting experience and entrance to some of the most beautiful castles and sanctuaries in Portugal!

Itinerary:
Day 1 (Thurs, Sept 11) – Arrival in Portugal. Bem-vindo in Portugal!! Transportation from Lisbon airport to hotel in Cascais (3 nights in Cascais). Welcome dinner.
Day 2 (Fri, Sept 12) – Lisbon. Full day in Lisbon including guided walking tour of the key sites – Belem Tower Discovery monument, Jeronimo Monastery, old town, Jewish quarter, Rossio, and more.
Day 3 (Sat, Sept 13) – Sintra/Cascais. Morning visit to the Pena Palace, Montserrat, and medieval village of Sintra; Cabo da Roca (the most westerly point of mainland Europe); afternoon tour and free time in Cascais.
Day 4 (Sun, Sept 14) – Peniche/Obidos/Nazare. Self-guided exploration of the fishing village of Peniche and Obidos (including a taste of their famous cherry tart) on our way to Nazare (3 nights in Nazare).
Day 5 (Mon, Sept 15) – Fatima. In addition to the Fatima sanctuary and basilica, we’ll also visit the Nazare lighthouse/fortress as well as the Sitio in Nazare.
Day 6 (Tues, Sept 16) – Ourem/Tomar. Included in today’s visits are a private tour of the Convent of Christ (HQ of the Knights Templar) and the Synagogue of Tomar. We’ll also visit the castle and charming town of Ourem.
Day 7 (Weds, Sept 17) – Alcobaca/Porto. Visit to the old town and monastery of Alcobaca on our way to our hotel in Porto (1 night in Porto).
Day 8 (Thurs, Sept 18) – Porto/Guimareas/Douro Valley. Morning tour of the highlights of Porto – old town, cathedral, Jewish quarter, Clerigos area, sao bento station, santa catarina, and more. Afternoon visit to the castle in Guimaraes before we are dropped off at our hotel in the famous Douro Valley (2 nights in Pinhao).
Day 9 (Fri, Sept 19) – Douro Valley. Full day tour of the Douro Valley including a private boat trip on the Douro River, Pinhao, and Regua, with winery visits and wine tasting experience.
Day 10 (Sat, Sept 20) – Coimbra/Lisbon. Free time to explore Coimbra and the King João’s Library on our way back to Lisbon (1 night in Lisbon). Farewell dinner.
Day 11 (Sun, Sept 21) – Departure. Transportation provided from Lisbon hotel to Lisbon airport.
Includes: 10 nights’ accommodation (3 in Cascais, 3 in Nazare, 1 in Porto, 2 in Pinhao, and 1 in Lisbon); meals included: daily breakfasts, 2 dinners (welcome and farewell); ground transportation by private Mercedes-Benz vehicle (includes gas, tolls, and parking); admission/tickets for 7 attractions including: Pena Palace, World of Wine, Monserrat, Alcobaça Monastery, Christ Convent in Tomar, Guimaraes Castle, Douro Museum in Peso da Regua, 2 winery visits/wine tastings, and private boat trip in the Douro Valley.
Personalized additions either before or after the noted itinerary are possible and gladly accommodated for additional costs.
