Europe Your Own Way invites you to join us on our customized, small group tour of Northern Ireland and Scotland!
This 11-day journey takes us from the rugged coastlines of Northern Ireland to the dramatic highlands and charming cities of Scotland. Along the way, we’ll explore castles, cross rope bridges, wander historic city walls, cruise Loch Ness, hike breathtaking landscapes, and even sample a wee dram of whisky. With plenty of variety—medieval towns, seaside cliffs, ferry crossings, and lively cities—this trip is the perfect mix of culture, history, scenery, and fun.

Itinerary:
Day 1 (Thurs, Apr 16) – Welcome to Northern Ireland!
Arrive in Belfast and settle into our city-center hotel. In the evening, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner to kick things off.
Day 2 (Fri, Apr 17) – Causeway Coastal Route
A full day along one of the world’s most scenic drives! Stops include Carrickfergus Castle, the thrilling Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, the iconic Giant’s Causeway, and dramatic Dunluce Castle.
Day 3 (Sat, Apr 18) – Derry/Londonderry
We’ll walk the historic city walls, cross the Peace Bridge, and see the famous Bogside murals that tell the story of “The Troubles.”
Day 4 (Sun, Apr 19) – On to Scotland
Today we take the ferry to Glasgow! Once checked into our hotel, we’ll enjoy a city tour to get to know this lively Scottish hub.
Day 5 (Mon, Apr 20) – Stirling & Loch Lomond
Step into history with a visit to Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. Afterwards, we’ll relax with a lakeside walk at scenic Loch Lomond.
Day 6 (Tues, Apr 21) – Glencoe & Fort William
Prepare for jaw-dropping scenery as we drive through the dramatic Glencoe valley. In Fort William, we’ll enjoy a seal island boat tour and maybe even a ride up the Ben Nevis cable car (weather and time permitting).
Day 7 (Weds, Apr 22) – Isle of Skye
A flexible day of exploring one of Scotland’s most magical spots. Options include Dunvegan Castle, hikes at the Quiraing and Old Man of Storr, and—if timing and weather are kind—a visit to the Fairy Pools. Overnight in Broadford.
Day 8 (Thurs, Apr 23) – Inverness & Speyside
Castles and whisky today! We’ll visit Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness, then continue to Speyside. Choose between a tour at Glenfiddich Distillery or exploring Balvenie Castle, Dufftown, and the nearby Fairy Village.
Day 9 (Fri, Apr 24) – Loch Ness & Edinburgh
Our Nessie hunt continues with a boat ride on Loch Ness. Then we’re off to Edinburgh! We’ll visit Edinburgh Castle, then use our hop-on hop-off passes to explore at our own pace. Our hotel is right on the Royal Mile for easy access.
Day 10 (Sat, Apr 25) – Explore Edinburgh
A free day to follow your interests—hike Arthur’s Seat, tour the Johnnie Walker Experience, explore by hop-on hop-off bus, or simply soak up the Old Town. Tonight, we gather for our farewell dinner.
Day 11 (Sun, Apr 26) – Departure
Transfer to Edinburgh Airport for your flight home, taking with you memories of cliffs, castles, and Celtic charm.
Includes: 10 nights’ accommodation (3 nights in Belfast; 1 night in Glasgow, Luss, Fort William, Broadford, and Inverness; 2 nights in Edinburgh); meals included: 10 breakfasts, 2 dinners (welcome and farewell); ground transportation by private vehicle; ferry from Northern Ireland to Scotland; admission to Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, and Edinburgh Castle; guided tours in Derry Londonderry and Glasgow; boat tours in Fort William and on Loch Ness.
Personalized additions either before or after the noted itinerary are possible and gladly accommodated for additional costs. PLUS – if you join both April trips – Ireland (April 7-15) AND Northern Ireland/Scotland (April 16-26), you’ll receive a bonus night and transportation to Belfast.
